An Open Letter to the White Right
I'm not sure what to make of this, but it is certainly provocative.

It appears to have been written by a white man..........Hmmmmmm?
I skimmed over it, the nature of it was quickly evident, it didn't require deep reading.
Obviously just a hate filled rant full of pointless angst and apparently---self loathing.
That being said,
I have often wondered how attitudes would shift, and at what point a significant number of us white folks would begin to feel cornered and threatened by the "browning" of America. How quickly this anxiety would grow as the non-white population grows, and if there would be violence when the tipping point of non-white predominance is reached. (On the national level.)
I suspect that this trend will continue. That the cat ("browning") is already out of the bag and that a good measure of us will never be willing to adapt. Meaning more ugliness very well may lie ahead.
Especially now that people of color are rising to serious positions of power.
But, do I believe all white folk fit the description that this asshole wrote in his letter?
Or that all non-whites, (And apparently at least one white person.), feel this way towards us?
No, that's ridiculous.
What do I think "we" should do?
Nothing.
Dave

Did anyone read the caveat in the introductory sentence. The author made it clear that it was not addressed to all white people. It was addressed to those who are not ready to accept those with another skin color as an equal. To those who have a stereotype of poor people as people of color. That is why they oppose programs to benefit the low income families. I think it is also addressed to the talking heads who reinforce racial fear and prejudice with code words like "urban" "SEIU thugs" "welfare recipients" "Muslim" or "Kenyan" or "illegals" "Obamacare" "New Black Panthers" or the biggest ones, "They" and "Them."
Regards,
D-Ray

Push aside the frustration and it's spot on. Imho
The Andy and Opie 50's was not everyones reality and it is no one's future.
People who want to take the country back to this are indeed advocating oppressing people of color and it's never gonna be no matter how many guns the advocates own.
I think the letter makes a good point, the times they are a changing and are forever changed already.

I'm glad I don't have to live inside his head.

Do the math my dears, the white right has maybe two kids per family max. The minorities have four to six. Won't take but two generations.

No. The exact opposite of a Tea Partier, perhaps.

That's right. And then you take into account the interracial families.........
Like I said. The cat is out of the bag. Good luck trying to stuff him back in.
Such an effort is Quixotic at best.
Dave
P.s. Speaking of someone stuck in the Opie and Andy past who feels cornered and threatened by the browning of America; My brother should be arriving tomorrow night. Armed to the teeth, no doubt. (But, it's because he's tough, not because he's scared. )
