He sure doesn't sound like anybody that I have talked to that is involved with (or has sympathy with) the Tea Party movement.

That is why they oppose programs to benefit the low income families. I think it is also addressed to the talking heads who reinforce racial fear and prejudice with code words like "urban" "SEIU thugs" "welfare recipients" "Muslim" or "Kenyan" or "illegals" "Obamacare" "New Black Panthers" or the biggest ones, "They" and "Them."

I think the only point I missed was his assertion that it was not about all whites.
I think anyone who hasn't heard "the ticking clock", simply hasn't been paying attention. This is why I have been telling people that the recent election is only a "battle in a greater war".
There's just something about walls. Isn't there? We build them, we tear them down, or they eventually crumble all on their own. We just can't seem to keep the real world out forever, can we?

Nice quiet letter to the editor in yesterday's WaPost. The author said that when he was a youngster he had a hard time making sense out of politics. So one day he asked his Dad, "What are we Dad?". His Dad said "We are Democrats, son."
"Why are we Democrats, Dad?"
"'Cause we are not rich, Son."
He concluded that he still was not rich and was still a Democrat.

I think there's a lot of truth in the cited article, despite its unsavory tone. I've been reading about the fear and loathing associated with the white majority becoming a minority in the near future for quite a while now. His point is that if the GOP continues to capitalize on this fear to help win elections in the short term, it will help to write its own own future as a permanent minority party.

The GOP always counted on the middle class as a buffer and that makes me wonder what on earth possessed them to set about its elimination. Now we are all in the same leaky boat and we all know who took the caulking out of the seams.

I think the Dem operative that wrote that letter should:
1) print it out.
2) wrap it around a pencil.
3) wrap the whole thing in duct tape; and
4) stuff it up his ass.

Where did you pull your conclusion that it was a Democratic operative who wrote the letter. Was it wrapped around a pencil covered with duct tape?
