Jack Daniels

Is this stuff renowned for strange dreams? Late on Christmas night after an unsuccessful attempt to unfreeze a feed pipe to the central heating pump, I tried it for the first time then went to sleep.

"Weird scenes from the Goldmine". Vivid dream involving strange events that I'll not go into it ended with Edith Piaf standing in (then falling out of) a chair on rollers while trying to teach me how to sing. WTF was that all about? Should I try some more JD tonight or quietly dig a hole in the garden and bury it?

Note to self. Before spending half an hour using a hot-air paint stripper to warm the feed pipe, check the system control settings. 'On' is so much better than 'Off'.

It never had that effect on me, but I don't generally drink JD.

Now if you were to try some Woodford Reserve, you would probably have a good reason to bury the JD in the garden.

JD? Never had it straight, but I have had a lot of "Jack 'n Cokes". Don't recall any bizarre dreams but it did lead to more than a few bizarre incidences prior to passing out.

Robert E. Lee said something to the effect that he liked whiskey so much that he refused to drink it.

Myself, I've never been able to hold my standards as high as Marse Robert.

I don't really care for the taste of JD, but I drink whiskey straight up or with water and rocks.

The only time I ever drank JD on purpose was in a bar. It does have a distinctive taste and you can tell if the barkeep is giving you the real deal or feeding you Bourbon Deluxe.

Another one they can't fool you with is Fighting Cock. If you can take a sip without blowing snot out of your ears, then it's something else. Lacquer thinner would be preferable.
