Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson has just fallen several more notches in the opinion of many Chicagoans. Those of us who question the firing of Dr. Allison Arwady, who appeared to have done an exemplary job as public health commissioner, would like to know why she was let go.

Instead of giving an answer, Johnson did himself an incredible injury. Instead of giving a good reason for his actions, he said that he was only being criticized because he’s a Black man. No, Mr. Mayor. You are being criticized for your actions, not for your color. - Chicago Tribune 10/8/23
