Well whoever is to blame we certainly do not want these assholes controlling large swaths of Iraq. This is revolting. One thing for sure is that these people will not win over too many hearts and minds.
They likely will. The US is the hated enemy who destroyed their country. Saddam is looking like a good guy now. The country ran pretty well comparatively under him.

Well our election pool here at home has been the lesser of two evils for quite some time. It obviously doesn't always work out for the best anywhere.

Taking over the oil fields would just benefit the oil companies who want to gouge world wide consumers of gasoline. We would not see cheaper oil.

Oddly an convergence of Iranian and American interests in saving the Iraqi government could bring about warmer relations.

Quite a unique and interesting situation. Hard to predict an actual outcome from a particular move and even harder to predict the outcome of the outcome.

I'm all for the President to continue pissing off the knuckledraggers on the right by refusing to do anything, other than a little saber rattling. In fact, I'd like to see McCain have a stroke on national TV during one of his dumbassed tirades.

I think I said that we tried grabbing the oil fields when we went in to depose Hussein without a workable followup plan or the cooperation of the principal locals, and here we are.

The only thing worse than being rapacious imperialists is being incompetent rapacious imperialists.

Doing nothing is often an ugly option.

Obama did not get the deal 'we' wanted from the Iraqis. That said it's all Iraq's fault and I wish we could let them twist in the wind.

We never wanted to take Iraq's oil.

ISIS has posted videos claiming that they have massacred 1700 captured
Iraqi soldiers.

If this is true folding our hands and refusing to use our air power would be criminal.

This jihadist group should be denied easy control of large swath of territory.
