And what is the biggest cook out day of the year? The Fucking Fourth of July for Christ sake! One of the hottest, humidest, bug infested days of the whole year!
I just don't get it.
Today, I'm heading down to Florida for my 50th High School reunion.
Know what the event they have scheduled for tommorrow afternoon is?
A Goddamned Fucking Picnic in the Park, that's what!
With the forecasted high in the 90's!
Really looking forward to that!
Sweat popping out of my forehead like BB's and drippin out of my armpits and down my sides, swatin flys away from my food and gnats away from my eyes and ears.
It's gonna be fucking awesome!

Why bother going since you've already decided it's going to be miserable?

I wonder how old T-Joad is doing at the festivities? I would love to see a live feed of him angrily chomping a hot dog and dodging mosquitoes.

Because if I don't go, I will regret it, and always wonder if I missed some magic moment in my life.
But if I do go, I will regret it, but I will know that I didn't miss a Goddamned thing.

Jesus Christ!
I agreed with you about cooking out.
And this is the thanks I get?

Couldn't help it.
Right there with you, today - taking a break from pulling vines out of the hedges - the bugs that have set up camp in there are not pleased and are not shy about venting; I'm gonna look like Chicken Pox Charlie when I'm done.

The park where the picnic was did not allow alcohol.
Which was fine.
The truth of the matter is that by the time you reach your 50th High School reunion, most of the heavy drinkers have already gone down for their permanent dirt naps.

Actually had fun today.
I met up with this dude that I had been sort of friends with way back in 7th and 8th grade. He had been this skinny little geek that always made straight A's and belonged to the chess club.
He recognized me, but I didn't recognize him at all because he had turned into this real good looking distinguished looking Dude that had had a very successful career as a foreign service officer, plus he had a really hot wife.
I thought that was really cool. Kind of a revenge of the nerd thing.
