Stereo Stuff
Okay, so I'm stuck in quarantine with a (hopefully) waning case of Covid-19. Bored to pieces and looking for something to fiddle with.
So, first up, I did some tweaking with the ever evolving Econowave speakers. Experimented with midrange levels, lined the chambers on these JBL compression drivers with felt and installed some Audiocap Thetas I had laying around from a previous project. These things are truly beginning to come to life.
Then, I went back through the set-up on the Pro-Ject 6.1/ ClearAudio Aurum Beta S Wood mkII. A tiny adjustment to azimuth and tracking force...........Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
Next up, there are some lights out on the old McIntosh MA6900. I think i have some left, out in the garage. If so, I might attempt to change them tomorrow. But, I'll do it in the living room. I'm not carrying that 58 lb beast out to the bench. It'll have to be done in place.

Ghods I've gotten audio lazy. Got oodles of time, and an integrated amp in the living room that BADLY needs de-oxit, but does it ever happen?

Still using those old '57 Magnavox 150s biamped monoblocks here. Hope you continue getting better, Dave.

Yeah, I got a Luxman L309 integrated that needs to go to the shop. I started packing it up just before I got sick so, there it sits. And a Revox B795 turntable with a channel out. It's supposed to go to Tennessee for a rebuild and new cartridge. But, I've taken so long to decide which cart to buy for it................

There's another one. The little Magnavox 6BQ5 stereo amp with a channel out that's been sitting in storage for the last year or so.................

My 2105 is sitting waiting for someone to lift it....
If really bored redo and clean your connections.

The autoformers are potted. This means they are in metal casings that are filled with tar. Mine has three. Very heavy.
I am but still tire quickly.

Thats one reason why the Marantz 8 is gone for Dynaco and VTA amps.
Kinda glad the Mac 240 deal didn't work out now.

Tons of nice vintage gear in the shed, 1,000+ LPs, but got bored with all the vintage stuff, moved on to modern. A Raspberry Pi 4 running LMS with the Material Skin, mostly for Qobuz, to a nice (German made) RME DAC with a big volume knob and balanced outs to a pair of JBL Pro powered monitors on the desktop. Excellent sound in the near-field. Love it.

Using my JBL L80t3s nearfield. One on each side of my little computer desk.
You can really feel those 10" drivers.
