Pretty much the exact thing happened here about 40 years ago between the Communist Workers Party and the KKK . Several people were killed. There was no multi channel cable 24 hour news cycle. I'm thinking Carter was President.

Don't know whether he made the correct comments or not.

I can see it suiting the agenda of the Nazis very nicely if their opposition is cast as being the troublemakers. Maybe the majority will become shy of opposing them, and sort-of ignore them, get used to them, leave them free to mobilize and act as they wish.

Forget it! No way in hell is that going to happen. Nazis will always be considered dangerous and disgusting. Trump's failure to distance himself from them is his greatest mistake yet, and he's going down fast now.
