March Madness
Do you all have your entries turned in? The Prez picked North Carolina - boring. Even more boring, half the people in our pool picked Kentucky. I was the only one to go with Ohio State. Go Buckeyes.
We do another pool that is plenty of fun. Four of us take turns drafting 16 teams. You get points by multiplying the number of wins by each team by its seed. If you have a 12 seed go 2 wins deep, that's a big 24 points. If you have a 1 seed win it all, that's only worth 6 points. 8 and 9 seeds go early in the draft. The pools make it much more fun to root for teams we would otherwise have little interest in. What a great two days of sports.
Regards,
D-Ray

Go Marquette! They play at 2:45 today. FWIW, I think Kentucky will likely win, but don't overlook Florida State. They've beaten Duke and UNC twice each this season. Leonard Hamilton is an excellent coach.

So, did anyone's brackets get burned by Freaky Friday at the Big Dance? I'm glad I had Duke and Mizzou going out early (although not in the first round).

Louisville is pretty solid this year. Siva is fun to watch.
Howzabout my boy, Jae Crowder, at Marquette? Rock solid.

Michigan State grad here, so I'll be pulling for the Spartans. They play again this afternoon.
Gotta love the Big Ten Conference's performance so far in the tournament. Only loss so far was posted by Michigan in their opening game.
Go MSU!

I have MSU playing in the final in both of my brackets, so up to a point, we have common cause here. Your team could meet my adopted team, KU, and face a former Big Ten coach. (OU grad here, but two sons at KU). You might also be pleased (or smug ) that I have an all Big Ten final in one of my brackets. That's looking like a sound strategy so far.
As far as Missouri's loss to a 15 seed, we're counting that against the SEC.
Regards,
D-Ray

I think the Big 10 is the best conference in the land this year. Normally, this distinction often belongs to the Big East or ACC (or once in a blue moon to the Big 12 )
