"It is the economy stupid".
If Trump continues with his disastrous trade war, economy will begin to tank world wide.
Prices will increase globally and recession follows.
Harley Davidson is not only an iconic company but also the pride of Wisconsin.
Interesting to see how they respond (by probably saying nothing but continue with their plans) and moe importantly how Paul Ryan deals with this by saying nothing since he is an endangered species).
I do not see how Trump can specifically target Harley Davidson and increase their taxes.

Re bold: Maybe the other economies that our economy has been supporting since the end of WWII should listen/see what the most powerful man in the world is saying/doing?
As far as HD goes, they're going to do what's best for HD. HD perceives its employees as human capital and will treat them as such. Corporations, political parties and Trump don't really care about human capital except for what they can get out of the masses.

Automakers to warn Trump of $45 billion higher vehicle costs if tariff imposed
An automotive trade group said on Tuesday it would tell the Trump administration that a U.S. threat to impose a tariff of up to 25 percent on imported passenger vehicles under national security grounds would cost American consumers $45 billion annually, or $5,800 per vehicle.

Are you getting tired of all the “winning” yet?

Trump Sees Harley Davidson's Decision as a Betrayal
White House aides say the president feels betrayed by the American manufacturer’s decision to move some production offshore to avoid becoming embroiled in Trump’s trade war with Europe.
His aggrieved tweetstorm — echoed in subsequent comments at the White House — made it clear that he took Harley’s action personally. But the outburst also reflected a president grappling with the effect of policies he expected to produce a more favorable outcome, say trade experts.
Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminum will cost Harley up to $20 million this year, with European Union retaliation adding perhaps an additional $45 million, the company said...
“It reveals his misunderstanding or lack of knowledge about the way global supply chains work and the way production works,” said Philip Levy, a White House economist in the George W. Bush administration. “There’s no evidence that the president’s very unorthodox approach to trade negotiations is achieving any results — other than more protectionism.”

GM warns U.S. import tariffs could lead to 'smaller' company
IOW, jobs cuts. MAGA! As with everything the Idiot In Chief does, this policy was not though through AT ALL. This is what happens when you despise the real experts, and instead listen to your misguided instincts, which in Donny’s past, resulted in bankruptcy after bankruptcy.
Trying to keep his campaign promises to his moronic base, who understand nothing. Will GM go on his shit-list now, along with HD?

A leaked Trump bill to blow up the WTO
https://www.axios.com/trump-trade-wa...76f4e0f83.html
Axios has obtained a leaked draft of a Trump administration bill — ordered by the president himself — that would declare America’s abandonment of fundamental World Trade Organization rules.
Why it matters: The draft legislation is stunning. The bill essentially provides Trump a license to raise U.S. tariffs at will, without congressional consent and international rules be damned.

The fact that Trump is able to go ahead with his trade war demonstrates that the 'rich' class is not politically able to restrain him.
