The "don't feed the troll" routine on this forum has gone beyond the point of being lame. In this case, the content of a book published by a former Obama cabinet member is being treated as information that is not subject to / open to discussion? Really?

I suggest that folks really start taking a look at what they want this forum to be. If you simply want a forum where opinions not shared by the majority are unwelcome, and topics that might not flatter the current Admin are not treated as legitimate discussion material, then maybe it's time to change the name of the forum.

Me? I'm fine with it either way, but the "don't feed the troll" responses are starting to look like tools used by a few to stifle legitimate discourse.

Whatever. But one post gets 4 "troll" responses, and the post is regarding a legit subject - statements in a forthcoming book by a former cabinet member? I'd say that the "turnabout is fair play" thing is getting way overdone.

Have you been reading his posts? This guy suggested another member was a pedophile because he didn't like the other guy's opinion and flat refused to apologize for it.

No, I don't have the time to read every post here. But obviously some do, and obviously some have developed strong feelings about folks. I'm just observing that this one thread seemed to be a bit over the top. Like D-Ray said, if you don't like a post, including this one, ignore it. But the "troll" thing seems counterproductive to the point of even eliciting more of the behavior you claim to find distasteful.

Actually, they speak volumes about my -- current -- lack of tolerance for bullshit and what happens if/when you decided to give the intellectually illiterate a second chance.

My ass. There's no legitimate discourse with 5 below. There's a legit member way to do it and a troll way to do it whell, and you know it. I suspect if the troll were of a different ideology, you'd be spewing "don't feed the troll" like there's no tomorrow.
