In Florida those luxury corporate skyboxes are sales tax exempted.

But the working stiffs down in the cheap seats have to pay 7% or more sales tax on them.

What's really galling about that is that a lot of these stadium project get funded by an extra penny of sales tax.

Ilitch said cost isn’t the first consideration as the planning has evolved for a project with a very large vision for the whole entertainment district.

“This is more than a development; this is our passion,” he said.
