On This Day Twenty Three Years Ago
 

In Shanksville, Pennsylvania an airliner was deliberately destroyed with all hands after another was speared into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. after two more were flown into the World Trade Center Towers in New York City, N.Y.

Close to three thousand Americans perished that day going about their daily lives.

A truly somber day in our history.

Just co-opted my neighbor to install my new 3'x5' version of 'Old Glory' by the front door. He's a good kid.

'Wave That Flag' aka 'US Blues' from the Dead's 'Mars Hotel' is spinning on my old tubular Magnavox AMP150s.

A friend and work colleague lost his wife in the Pentagon crash.

My neighbor went to work and did not return.

Didn't know anyone personally involved with the event and aftermath. Remember the day and weeks, months after with sadness.

Had the Wednesday before said goodby to my oldest son off to Great Lakes for Boot Camp.
With these last words to him, "Good choice unless there a war!"
