3 companies preparing to raise prices under Trump tariffs

How many days after Jan 20th before the damned fools who elected the Orange Buffoon realize their huge mistake?

Whoever is in power has to use tariff to counter especially China's Over Capacity.

So, you're saying this is the medicine and the US has to take it regardless of who's in charge?

Probably not to the degree of Trump's pronouncements. China fighting it way out local debt and real estate malaise is resorting to its dominant advantages in manufacturing and supply chain.
The result is that few industries can compete with Chinese in scale and price.
A prime example is solar panel.
Janet Yellen has been pleading with the Chinese to ease up.
Notice Biden although he critcized Trump's tariffs did not remove them and lately is in favor of tariffs on Chinese cars.
Europe has also resort to tariffs on Chinese goods.
Trump is also complaining about the European import to a lesser degree.
Hopefully JD and Musk can be a moderating influence but tariffs are inevitable. There is no other tool to deal with China's Over Capacity.

How Will Trump’s Universal and China Tariffs Impact the Economy?
https://taxfoundation.org/blog/trump...mpact-economy/

Quote:

A dozen macroeconomic estimates have taken different approaches to analyzing Trump’s proposed tariffs, from estimating the fall in aggregate demand arising from the tax hikes to using various trade models to our work at Tax Foundation estimating the effects of the tax increase on labor. All studies consistently find that Trump’s proposed tariffs would have a negative impact on the United States economy.

President-elect Trump may want to impose tariffs to encourage investment and work, but his strategy will backfire. Tariffs will certainly create benefits for protected industries, but those benefits come at the expense of consumers and other industries throughout the economy.
No surprise. It's a fool's game. Will the MAGAMorons wake up? Hope so.

What many do not understand is that tariffs especially those targeting China are not just about economics; they have geopolitical import.

Trump’s Mass-Deportation Plan to Hurt Farming, Co-Op Chief Says
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump...224414481.html

Quote:

That’s according to Matt Carstens, chief executive officer of Iowa’s biggest farm cooperative, who said Trump’s plan should be approached carefully. Farming would be one of the biggest US sectors hit should the incoming administration move forward with kicking potentially millions of undocumented immigrants out of the country.
Iowa, where 56% voted for the Orange Buffoon. How many months before they deeply regret their idiotic vote?

Well, I think we can all agree that the intellectuals at the Tax Foundation have a FAR better understanding of the matter than you do.

Your typical post: make a "profound" and cryptic pronouncement with absolutely no evidence to back it up.

I think you are feigning ignorance.

There is a broad effort on the part of the US to slow the arrival of China. Impediment to Chinese trade is part of the effort.

Now that the horse is out of the barn, through a door that we deliberately helped to open.
