Bob, I'm not even trying to guess what this conjured up ignorant @ss crisis will cause or what best to do. Or the next one... two....

Went thru crisis before and found a way to adapt.

It is the cry baby wieners who feel entitled, yes special that worry me. For they don'y know how to handle adversities very well no do they?

Blocked from access to that thread, must be for members only. Are they blaming Biden or Obama? Lol.

I wonder whether they realize how much the parts would cost if they were made here? Doubtful.

It is in the subscriber section. Heather is keeping the political crap well off of AK. She's a trooper.

For those of us who don't subscribe, can you give a thumbnail?

1st post of the thread.
"I looked today at reordering items that I bought in September 2024 from Mouser. Low and behold, prices went up 20-30% in general and some over 70% in 4 months - on items NOT affected by recent US trade tariffs! I guess the tariff would now be on top of that.

Here is an example. I bought 4 of these capacitors for my Gillespie Triode Heathkit W4-m modification. They were Vishay 1uf, 630 V polypropylene film caps and cost $2.88 in Sep 2024, now $5.00 each

What is going on?"

Thanks, Bob.

Pretty egregious.

This current uncertainty from it seems at times hour to hour out of the Capital on the direction ahead. Prices increasing on everything will be the way forward with income flat or going down be a good guess.

On the thread mentioned by others is the added charges for tariff uncertainty. The not knowing if or when never is a good thing when applied to any good business model. So many will choose to play it safe and raise prices over not. This will yet be another of many setbacks for the vintage audio market. Along with the discontinuing and elimination of manufacturing or components used .... solid state devices and capacitors will change this and many other a hobby.

We are are at the beginning of the journey down this road.

I have 2 50's Wurlitzer jukeboxes. Many years ago I bought parts from a company in Germany, was set to order more parts yesterday but emailed them to ask if individual purchases were subject to the tariffs. Yes they are. So at this point I'll probably hold off hoping Mr Dumbass recinds these tariffs. But I'm not holding my breath.

If they think sourcing audio parts is a crisis what are they going to do when sourcing food is the problem?
