Boat strikes
We can argue on the legality of the sinking of these boats. Guess some think it is appropriate and legal. I firmly believe it to be a war crime. First when did drug smuggling become a death penalty. Plus where is any proof a small boat over a thousand miles away is any threat to the USA.
There should be no argument zero as to the killing of survivors. The so called double tap. Do we not have a branch already used to intercept these crafts? The Coast Guard...... Seizure and interrogate, prosecute then imprison.. If the shoe were ever to be on the other foot. A US Sailor Soldier Marine Airman were to be captured, surrender or wounded then killed..... How can there be any argument. This is not who we are or is it? |
Having done plenty of "drug ops" in the Caribbean with CG detachments on our ship, and boardings else where in the world as part of the USN, and what I know about ROE, I would agree with your thoughts about being war crimes.

The official line is that we the United States are engaged in a "non international armed conflict". Usual political word salad, but doesn't "non-international" mean domestic? Bush had "enemy combatants", Putin has an ongoing "Special Military Operation" and DJT did not want to be left out. Irony is that our navy has killed 81 alleged drug smugglers in the Caribbean with their drugs assumed to be cocaine bound for Western Europe while our dear leader has pardoned the ex-president of Honduras who was convicted of participating in drug smuggling into the US, a 45 year prison sentence.
I think that by now our dear leader has lost all touch with reality. Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez freed from prison after Trump pardons drug trafficking conviction https://abcnews.go.com/US/former-hon...y?id=128036575 |

In this case I wonder who will get thrown under the bus first? |

It's murder, premeditated murder by the Trump administration, and that goes for all these strikes, not just the double tap.
As i understand it congress can only declare war? |

This goes a lot deeper than Hegseth and Admiral Bradley, this is a war crime with pictorial evidence that cannot be easily scrubbed and has international implications. Of course, any country that has the audacity to call for an investigation will be promptly tariffed but the six Dem Congress members who published a joint video now look national heroes.
I predict that Bradley will retire very soon and Hegseth will be axed shortly thereafter. Even Teflon Con cannot wipe the stain away this time. |
