Ukrainian drones hit Moscow and surrounding area, killing three

This is fantastic news, not the loss of civilian life of course, but the fact that Ukrainian drones can now reach Moscow. In May they hit Russian oil refineries in Ryazan and Perm estimated to be about 1,500 Km from the front lines.

Amazing for a country under Russian siege for four years to be able to not only defend themselves but also develop technology with meager resources to now cause serious damage while rattling Putin's nerves. There is a concentrated effort by Ukraine now to go after Russia's oil fields.

While Ukrainian drones have penetrated Moscow's air defenses before, this time they hit a wide range of targets, including industrial plants and an oil refinery. Three people were killed and 12 wounded, Russian authorities said.

“This is significant also because the Moscow region is the most heavily saturated with Russian air defense systems,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a statement on Sunday afternoon.

Russians are now wondering why their military isn't stopping Ukraine's drones and missiles. The war that was "over there" is now on their doorstep. Will Russia pull more air defense systems from the front and other places to defend Moscow? If so, it's likely Ukraine will pivot to targets less secure if the success rate of striking Moscow falls.
