Good to know, I am never the book is better than the "film" person. While that often tends to be true I also understand the limitations naturally imposed on the visual version.

There are precious few examples where the film is as good as the book and in my opinion, Under the Banner of Heaven wasn't really even close. It was a decent enough series, but the book was really good, memorable, impactful and covered a lot more ground. FWIW, The Godfather, Lonesome Dove and Band of Brothers made the cut. UTBOH didn't.
