Read the book instead. It's a really good book by a great writer. Comparitively speaking, the series was pretty lame. I bailed after two episodes.

Watch the movie some, stop, read the book some, stop, watch some more of the movie, then back to book, keep alternating. Book for the story, movie to provide pictures for the book.

Good to know, I am never the book is better than the "film" person. While that often tends to be true I also understand the limitations naturally imposed on the visual version.
