I thought I read a blurb that suggested she had embraced right-wing politics in her declining years. Seemed uncharacteristic of her.

Per Wikipedia, she had Islamophobic attitudes, and otherwise was not above voicing insulting racial/ethnic opinions about those who engaged in traditional slaughter or hunting practices she regarded as cruel. Nobody's perfect. I join in saying RIP.
